Incorrect Event Code

This error occurs when the wrong event code was selected at the time of filing.

When this error occurs, a Case Administrator of the Bankruptcy Court will re-file the document using the correct event and at the end of the document, they will enter, "CORRECTIVE ENTRY:  ORIGINALLY, THE INCORRECT EVENT WAS USED.  THIS ENTRY REPLACES [#]."  This means the previously entry has been terminated and replaced with the new entry.  

When you receive this new entry, please review the following:

SOLUTIONS:

  1. Make sure the correct event code is highlighted and selected from the list of events.
  2. Use the "SEARCH" feature located on the CM/ECF main menu when your unsure where an event is located.

  • Filing Application to Employ.  Under Bankruptcy > Motions/Applications > Employ  
  • Filing Answer to Complaint in an adversary.  Under Adversary > Answers >  Complaint, 3rd, cross, counter
  • Filing Rescission regarding Reaffirmation Agreement.  Under Bankruptcy > Other > Recission of Reaffirmation Agreement
  • Filing Ch 7 Means 122A-1.  Under Bankruptcy > Other > Chapter 7 Statements – Monthly Income (122A-1)…
  • Filing Ch 7 Means 122A-2.  Under Bankruptcy > Other > Chapter 7 Means Test Calculation 122A-2
  • Filing Motion to Allow Claim Out of Time.  Under Bankruptcy > Motions/Applications > Allow Claim Out of Time
