Courtroom Department Standard for Entry of Orders
Wednesday, September 7, 2011
Local Rule 9072-1(1) highlights the process the Court uses to produce standard orders but fails
to state the turnaround time for entry of standard orders on the docket.
"The Court will produce and file standard orders to grant or deny motions. Many orders will be in
the form of a text-only docket entry order, entered by Court employees authorized to do so by
the Judge, which orders shall constitute the only Court order concerning the matter. Under
certain conditions, a party may be requested by the Court to submit the proposed order to the
Courtroom Deputy responsible for the case."
In the last couple of months, the Courtroom Department has undergone some transition due to a
colleague retiring. Because of the transition, this means a heavier workload for the three
remaining staff in the department. Donna, Deb, and Laurie Wiemann will continue to provide
exceptional service, yet the turnaround time for an order to be entered on the docket may not be
within the previous 24 hour standard.
