Notice of Redaction (Sealed)

Effective December 1, 2014, a fee is required to redact. The fee must be paid upon the filing of the redaction in CM/ECF using ACH debit or credit card through Pay.gov. The respective document(s) will not be considered for redaction unless the fee is paid.  

Use this event if you are seeking to redact personal identifying information as described in Fed. R. Bank. P. 9037(a) (social security or taxpayer identification numbers, financial account numbers, and/or dates of birth or names of minor children) from documents on file with the Court.  

When using this event,  the redacted document must be included as an attachment. The notice is restricted from public view and is available only to the party filer and the Court. The notice should specify the document to be redacted and the information to be redacted from the document.  

NOTE:  A Notice of Redaction (Sealed) may be filed in a closed case without filing a Motion to Reopen/Fee.

  1. Select Bankruptcy > Other
  2. Enter Case Number (e.g. xx-xxxxx).  Click Next.
  3. Select Notice of Redactions (Sealed) from the event list.  Click Next.
  4. Click Next to skip the Joint Filing Screen.
  5. Select the Party filer.  Click Next.
    • If the party is not listed, click on Add/Create New Party.
    • The Attorney/Party Association screen may appear.  If your party selection was correct, check the box to create an association.
  6. Select Choose File to browse and select the pdf file. Check Yes for Attachments to Document. Click Next.
    • The redacted document must be filed as an attachment and should not be combined with the Notice of Redaction pdf. See also, Neb. R. Bankr. P. 9037-1.
  7. Select Choose File to browse and select the pdf file (the redacted document).
    • Do not choose a category and type "Redacted Document" in the Description text box.
    • Click Add to List
    • Click Next.
  8. Review Fee Amount and click Next.
    • If you are filing an Amended Notice, enter O for other in the receipt # box.
  9. Click Next.
  10. Verify the final docket text before submitting.  If correct, click Next.
    CAUTION!!  This is the last screen.  Clicking Next will submit your document to CM/ECF.  If the final docket text is incorrect, click the Back button to find the screen to modify or abort the transaction by clicking on Bankruptcy on the CM/ECF Menu bar.
  11. Notice of Electronic Filing/Receipt screen displays
    The Notice of Electronic Filing certifies that this pleading is now an official court document.
