Memorandum opinions by Judge John C. Minahan, who served on the Bankruptcy Court for the District of Nebraska from September 17, 1987, to March 1, 2001, have been published by various national and local legal reporting services and are widely available in electronic and paper format. For that reason, Judge Minahan's opinions are not posted here.

HELPFUL SEARCH HINTS

CASE NUMBER SEARCHES:  Type in the case number, including A or BK, of the case wanted. Upper- or lower-case letters may be used.  Examples:  A02-8035, bk02-41592

KEYWORD SEARCHES:  Search using almost any word or phrase contained in the opinion, including date, party name, authoring judge, or topic.  Upper- or lower-case letters may be used. Examples:  September 17 or "September 17, 2002", mahoney, Smith.

CODE SECTION SEARCHES:  Search by Bankruptcy Code section by typing the section number.  Example:  341.  To search for a specific subsection, put the section number in quotation marks.  Example:  "523(a)(15)", "362(d)", or "1322(b)(2)".

PHRASES:  Use quotation marks.  Examples:  "automatic stay", "homestead exemption", "Chapter 11 plan".

TWO OR MORE SEARCH TERMS:  Use "and" or "or" between the terms.  Example:  discharge and embezzlement; asset or property. An ampersand (&) may be used for "and". A "pipe" ( | ) may be used for "or".

VARIATIONS OF A WORD:  Include an asterisk (*) as a root expander to search for variations of a word.  Examples: discharge* will find opinions containing the words "discharge", "discharged", "dischargeable", and "dischargeability".
